The Parkes Shire is an ideal filming location for shooting films, documentaries, commercials and television series. Our broad range of scenic rural landscapes, heritage buildings, natural wonders and country characteristics make the Parkes Shire an attractive location for filmmakers.
The Parkes Shire is renowned for its portrayal in the 2000 movie 'The Dish', featuring our most iconic landmark, the CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope.
