About Family Day Care

Last modified: January 15, 2009 - 4:53 PM

Family Day Care is a unique, quality child care option for young children 0-12 years. It is provided in the homes of registered Carers who are supported by qualified and experienced staff in the local coordination unit.

Philosophy
Parkes/Forbes Family Day Care Scheme aims to provide childcare of the highest quality, within a safe, secure and stimulating home environment.

Aim
Family Day Care strives to develop a rich environment, which enables all children to grow to their fullest potential. All children are provided with many opportunities to explore and interact with adults and other children of different ages.

Strategies to Achieve our Aim
Carers agree to abide by the Family Day Care and Home Based Child Care Services Regulations (Code of Conduct). Copies of this can be obtained from the Coordination Unit or from your Carer.

Carers agree to abide by the Family Day Care Regulations set down by the Department of Community Services , Parkes/Forbes Family Day Care Scheme Policies and Conditions of Registration.

Family Day Care provides a high quality service, with consideration given to the needs of individual families.

We ensure that appropriate child care standards and practices are maintained and improved.

Scheme Policies
Our Scheme has an Anti - Bias Policy which ensures that no one shall be discriminated against on the basis of race, age, gender, disability, health, religion, lifestyle and political affiliation. Children are encouraged to celebrate the difference between each other and accept others for who they are. Scheme policies can be accessed through the Family Day Care Coordination Unit or your Carer.

Scheme Policies are reviewed annually, through the input of all stake holders.

Quality Childcare
Parkes/Forbes Family Day Care Scheme aims to provide children with high quality care that best promotes their learning and development. To ensure that children in Family Day Care have stimulating, positive experiences and interactions that foster all aspects of their development we continually measure and improve our service through the Quality Assurance Process.

Parkes/Forbes Family Day Care Scheme is sponsored by Parkes Shire Council, licensed and regulated by the Department of Community Services and is funded by the Department of Family and Community Services. The Scheme is NCAC (National Childcare Accreditation Council) Accredited.

Family Day Care is provided in Parkes, Forbes and Peak Hill and coverage does extend to Trundle and Tullamore.
