Becoming A Carer

If the idea of running your own business from home appeals to you then why not operate a child care service with Parkes/Forbes Family Day Care Scheme. All Carers are required to undergo the Working with Children check, as per the Young People Act 1998, Commission for Children and Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998.

What do I need to become a Family Day Care Carer?  | Have a current Senior First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one as this is the only formal qualification a Carer needs. |  | Be eighteen years of age/ or over. |  | Attend initial and on-going in-house training. |  | Complete the registration process including an interview, medical, referee checks and working with children check. |  | Carers homes must meet Government and Scheme safety standards. |  | Carers must be registered and their homes must meet Family Day Care and Home Based Services Regulations. |  | Participate in the on-going National Quality Assurance process. |
What about income? Family Day Care can be both financially and personally rewarding. Carers are paid by the hour according to the number of children in care.  | You can work full-time or part-time and care for up to five children under school age (including your own). You can also care for school age children before and after school. |  | Do you want to earn up to $700.00 a week? |
