Emergency Management

Emergency Management within the Parkes Shire area is co-ordinated by the Parkes Shire Local Emergency Management Committee. Parkes Council is required to support the Committee to ensure that arrangements are in place for the prevention of, response to, and recovery from emergencies.
The Parkes Shire Local Disaster Plan (DISPLAN) is the document that sets out the roles and responsibilities of combat agencies, prevention strategies, stages of activation of the Plan, the response processes, and the recovery process following an emergency.
