Aged Services

Parkes Shire Council promotes the interests of older people by providing information, resourcing groups, and coordinating special groups.
Council provides a Community Centre in Parkes for use by seniors.

Council's Social Plan includes information about older people and services in the community. There are six aged care facilities in the Parkes Shire, the most prominent are:

  • Southern Cross Village
  • Rosedurnate
  • Niola Nursing Home
Community Centre
The Parkes Seniors Club Committee, the Pensioners Association and the Association of Civilian Widows meet on a regular basis and hold activities at the Community Centre located in Welcome Street, Parkes. Senior's week activities are supported by Parkes Shire Council and arranged by an active Seniors Weeks Committee.
