General Manager The Council's Senior Management Team is led by the General Manager, Mr Alan McCormack. Alan started with Parkes Shire Council in 1990. Alan has worked in Local Government since 1965, becoming the Deputy Shire Clerk of Balranald Council in 1968, and Lachlan Council in 1972. Alan returned to Balranald as the Shire Clerk in 1974, taking up this same position with Hay Council in 1976. Alan is a qualified Local Government Clerk and holds a Graduate Diploma and a Master of Business. Alan has previously served as Secretary of the Country Mayors Association and Secretary of the CENTROC Group of Councils. He was an Executive member of the Institute of Municipal Management for 11 years. Alan currently serves on the LGSA Roads and Transport Committee, Central West Country Energy Advisory Board, Australian Trunk Rail Corporation, Parkes/Forbes Business Enterprise Centre and the Central West Area Consultative Committee. He is Secretary of the Central West Group of Councils (CENTROC) and President of the Local Government Managers Australia (Orana Branch).		General Manager Alan McCormack
Director Corporate Services Les Finn has been employed with Parkes Shire Council since 1983, having held positions in Personnel, Rating, Information Technology, Finance and Administration/Governance. Les possesses a Degree in local Government Administration and is a Qualified Local Government Clerk under Ordinance 4 of the previous Local Government legislation. He is a member of the Local Government Managers Association. Les also has Financial Industry experience having served on the Board of the Central West Credit Union for 17 years, holding various positions including Board Vice-Chair, Chairman Governance Committee and Vice-Chair Audit Committee. Les heads the Corporate Services Division of Council which includes Finance and Governance, Information Services, Human Resources, Library Services, Family Day Care and Tourism/Economic Development		Director Corporate Services Les Finn
Director Infrastructure Kent Boyd is a Civil Engineer and the Director of Infrastructure at Parkes Shire Council. He is a strong advocate of long-term strategic planning with responsibilities including an annual budget in excess of $6,000,000 and assets managed in excess of $100,000,000. Kent has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (First Class Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Management and a MBA. He has worked both in the public and private sector. Kent is active as an Executive Member of the NSW Local Government Water Directorate and Mid-Lachlan Regional Vegetation Committee. Kent is also a Parkes Shire State Emergency Services Local Controller, Member of the Regional Traffic Committee, Treasurer of the Parkes and Districts Landcare Steering Committee, and Treasurer of Currajong Enterprises (a disabilities service). Director Operations Steve Barry has been with Parkes Council since 1990, firstly as the Deputy Shire Engineer, and as the Director of Operations since 1999. His portfolio covers the areas of roads, drainage, parks and gardens, swimming pools, noxious weeds, airports, and emergency management as the Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO). Steve holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He started in local government in 1974 as a cadet engineer with Wyong Shire Council and has also worked with Armidale City and Young Shire Councils. Steve is also a past Apexian, serving as President, Secretary and other Board positions.		Director Operations Steve Barry
Director Planning & Environment Steven Campbell, Director Planning and Environment has been with Parkes Shire Council since August 1990. Mr Campbell holds qualifications in Health, Building and Local Government Management. Steven has held a number of positions in Local Government over the past 26 years and currently serves on the following committees - Executive Officer, NetWaste a regional collaborative waste management group; Vice President of Environmental Development & Allied Professionals, Australian Institute Environmental Health, Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (Western Groups). Steven also serves on the following community organisations - Treasurer, Parkes and District Information and Neighbourhood Centre; Chairman, Parkes/Forbes/Condobolin Community Transport Committee; and Chairman, Parkes Aged & Disabled Support Scheme Committee.
