2007-2008 to 2009-2010 Management Plan

Last modified: May 22, 2008 - 10:04 AM

Parkes Shire Council has adopted the Management Plan with respect to its activities for the 3 years from 1 July, 2007, and its Revenue Policy for the next financial year.

The Managment Plan is available for perusal at the Administration Centre and at Council’s Libraries at Parkes.

The Plans includes details of:
  • Council’s principal activities, strategic objectives, performance targets, statement of means and performance measures for 2007/08 – 2009/10; and
  • The estimates of Council’s income and expenditure, rating structure and proposed fees and charges for 2007/2008 based on a proposed 3.4% increase in General Fund Rates.

The estimates include a charge of $25.00 ($12.50 for strata lots) for residential and commercial properties in the towns and villages throughout the shire for stormwater management which is outside the rate pegging legislation.

The water availability charge will increase from $295 to $307 for 2007/08. Whilst it is proposed, to increase the cost of water from 65 cents to 70 cents per KL for water consumption under 365KL and from $1.70 to $1.75 per KL for water used above 365KL.

It is proposed to increase the residential access charge for sewerage from $250.00 to $260.00 and will see full discharge costs payable by non-residential customers after phasing the charge over the past two years.

The proposed increase for garbage services is from $180.00 to $190.00 (includes recycling) for 2007/08.

Maps which show those parts of its area to which each category and sub-category of the ordinary rate and each special rate included in the draft management plan will be on display at Council’s Administration Centre, 2 Cecile Street, Parkes.
