Asbestos Policy - Published: 06 Dec 2007
Asbestos is a naturally occurring rock. There are two (2) families of minerals:
Serpentine - this group contains Chrysotile, commonly known as White Asbestos
Amphibole - this group contains Amosite (Brown Asbestos) and Crocidolite (Blue Asbestos) as well as some other less common types, Tremolite, Actinolite and Anthophyllite.
Asbestos occurs as bundles of very fine fibres. Stressing of fibres often results in an increase of airborne asbestos fibres. more ..
Best Practice Pricing Policy - Published: 27 May 2008
On 1 July 2005 Council introduced Best Practice Pricing for its water and sewer business in general compliance with the guidelines set out by the Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability (now known as the Dept of Water and Energy). This pricing was a prerequisite for eligibility for financial assistance towards the capital costs of backlog works under the Country Towns Water Supply and Sewer Program. more ..

Code of Conduct Policy - Published: 06 Dec 2007
The Local Government Act 1993 requires every council to adopt a code of conduct that incorporates the provisions of The Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW. Councillors, members of staff of council and delegates of the council must comply with the applicable provisions of council’s code of conduct. It is the personal responsibility of council officials to comply with the standards in the code and regularly review their personal circumstances with this in mind. Council contractors and volunteers will also be required to observe the relevant provisions of council’s code of conduct.
Council resolved at its Ordinary meeting of Council 15 July 2008 (Resolution Number 08-482) to adopt the Model Code of Conduct Policy developed by the Department of Local Government. more ..

The effective dissemination of information and communication is a vital element in building a positive identity for Council through the greater community awareness of its services, activities, achievements and resources.
