Enjoy the Grub at Peak Hill's Spit & Spud!
The annual Spit and Spud Weekend will take place in Peak Hill once again on Saturday 24 October at the Peak Hill Showground. The event is essentially a fundraising initiative, with all profits being used to support the local community and worthy cause, Camp Quality.
The Peak Hill Spit and Spud offers something for all ages with scrumptious food, games, competitions, market stalls and live entertainment throughout the day. Try the two course meal of Spit Roast and Dessert for just $30.00 which also includes entry. General admission is just $10.00 and under 16 years are free.
Come and experience some local talent with live bands and poetry by Stan Kingham. There will be plenty of fun for the kids with amusements and games including a bike race with Camp Quality's 'Giggles' the robot.
Those looking for a challenge can take part in the 'Poker Run' which is competition for cars and bikes kicking off at 10.00am. Registration is just $10.00 and spectators are welcome to come along as well.
Peak Hill is located 50km Northwest of Parkes on the Newell Highway towards Dubbo. There are camping sites available for just $10.00 along with a selection of motel accommodation and caravan parks.
To round up the weekend, enjoy a cooked breakfast on Sunday morning at the Showground for just $5.00. Visitors to the Peak Hill should also take the opportunity to check out the local attractions including the Peak Hill Open Cut Experience, the Fish Fossil Hut or the famous 'The Dish' .
