Preparations are already well underway for the 2009 Countrylink Parkes Elvis Festival.
The Countrylink Parkes Elvis Festival has become so popular, it now attracts over 8,000 to town.
In 2009 you can expect all the usual favourites, such as the street parade, feature concerts, outdoor entertainment, busking, Elvis Gospel Church Service, look-a-like, sound-a-like and move-a-like contests, Miss Priscilla dinner and so much more.
As you can imagine, accommodation is at an absolute premium - with Hotels, Motels, and Caravan Parks in Parkes all heavily booked.
There are still camp grounds available, and Tent City is also anticipated to go on sale in June 2008.
To find out what vacancies exist in Peak Hill, Forbes and other surrounding towns, call the Parkes Visitor Information Centre on (02) 6863 8860 or email tourism@parkes.nsw.gov.au
The Countrylink Elvis Express Train will be launched later in the year, with tickets usually on sale from around September. Watch this space for more details.
If you are interested in securing Home Hosting accommodation in Parkes, please download the registration form and complete and return after the 10th April 2008.
The most exciting news is that a Sleeper Train will make its way to the Festival for the first time in 2009. Tours Unlimited will be operating this train, which will include on-board entertainment and full accommodation facilities. It is imagined that this service will be very popular and will book quickly.
