The 2010 CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival is just around the corner with planning in its final stages. Parkes will once again be host to thousands of Elvis fans who descend on Parkes in January to celebrate Elvis' birthday.
The Countrylink Parkes Elvis Festival has become so popular, it now attracts over 9,500 people (which is significant, given Parkes' population of 11,000).
In 2010 you can expect all the usual favourites, such as the street parade, Feature Concerts, outdoor entertainment, busking, the Elvis Gospel Church Service, look-a-like, sound-a-like and move-a-like contests, Miss Priscilla dinner, Elvis Poets Breakfast, the CountryLink Elvis Express Train and so much more.
Accommodation is at an absolute premium - with commercial Hotels, Motels, and Caravan Parks in Parkes all heavily booked.
'Gracelands on the Green' sees the Northparkes Sporting Complex becomes a tent village - where all the hard work is done for you and the gear provided. Check out the Tent City Hire Website for more details and to book your tent. Tents come complete with flooring, lighting and stretcher beds.
