The Australian Rail Track Corporation is undertaking its next phase of industry engagement for the Inland Rail project with three city-based industry briefing sessions planned in May. The sessions will be live streamed to enable regional stakeholders including Parkes Shire locals to tune in and view the presentations.
The sessions will be held in the following locations :
- Brisbane, Monday 14 May at 9am – 11am
- Melbourne, Tuesday 15 May at 9am – 11am
- Sydney, Wednesday 16 May 2018 at 9am – 11am
The sessions will provide information about opportunities for private sector participation in Inland Rail, current scheduling, requirements for businesses to work on Inland Rail, and an update on the status of the Private Public Partnership section of work. Following the Industry Briefings there will be a market testing process.
A report by Regional Development Central West found that around 490 new jobs could be created in the region during the construction phase.
Parkes Shire Mayor, Councillor Ken Keith OAM said “these sessions are a great opportunity for local businesses to be part of the process and understand the requirements.”
“We are well positioned to benefit from the economic and supply chain development associated with the project and these sessions will detail the opportunities for local industry to be involved in the delivery of the Inland Rail.”
Local business operators are invited to view the live stream at Parkes Shire Council on Monday 14 May at 9am in the Councillors Room.
