Approval is required to film in Council managed public spaces

The Parkes Shire is renowned for its portrayal in the 2000 movie 'The Dish', which featured our most iconic landmark, the CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope.
Media activities such as still photography, current affairs, and news coverage does not require a permit.
Notification and a request to Council is required where access to Council managed land is needed for filming.
Prior to commencing any filming on council owned property, filmmakers must consult Council's Planning & Department on 02 6861 2373.
