The Driver Reviver Program operates throughout Australia during school/university holidays and over long weekends. It is a community initiative operated by a range of different organisations and community groups, who volunteer their time to promote road safety and help reduce the fatigue-related crashes on our roads.

The Parkes Driver Reviver Group has been generously supported by volunteers from local community groups, including the Rural Fire Service, SES and the Salvation Army, who have given up their time to participate in coordinating the Driver Reviver Program.

Destination NSW, Transport for NSW and Driver Reviver Australia have announced an extension to the program to include various Visitor Information Centres across New South Wales. The Visitor Information Centres can provide additional sites that already have resources available to deliver the services the Driver Reviver Program provides.

Mayor of Parkes Shire Cr Ken Keith OAM said,  "The Parkes Visitor Information Centre has offered to support the program over the Christmas holidays, to ensure we are able to continue the great work of those organisations that have successfully ran the program previously here in our Shire during this busy time of the year."

The Driver Reviver Program will be operating at the Parkes Visitor Information Centre from Wednesday 23rd December through until Sunday 10th January. In addition to this, the program will also be running over the Australia Day Long Weekend in January. The Visitor Information Centre will be open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 3pm on weekends and public holidays.
