Opening and running a café, small bar or restaurant in the Parkes Shire just got easier, following the launch of the Easy to do Business program.

Council has teamed up with Service NSW and the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner to launch the new program, that aims to provide personalised step-by-step guidance and support via an online portal, to help you open and grow your business.

Potential new or existing business operators interested in opening or growing a café, bar or restaurant in the Parkes region can now sign up to access free personalised assistance to help you get started, including advice on licensing, regulations, what approvals are required, as well as the time, effort and fees involved.

Parkes Shire Mayor, Councillor Ken Keith OAM said, “we understand that by supporting our local business community, adds value and positive economic benefits for the entire region.”

“In an effort to eliminate some of the hurdles and red tape involved in getting a new business up and running in Parkes, Council has collaborated with Service NSW to streamline the process.”

“All local, state and federal government requirements to open and grow your business are now located in one place, with a dedicated personal Business Concierge available to guide you through the process.”

Parkes Chamber of Commerce President Geoff Rice welcomed the news saying, “the chamber supports initiatives that make the process of opening a new business less daunting and help businesses navigate their way through relevant government approvals and provide support and insight along the way.”
