Flood Recovery Support

Parkes Shire residents impacted by recent flooding are encouraged to contact Service NSW for up-to-date information and advice with respect to flood recovery support and arrangements.

Waste Collection

Flood impacted residents are encouraged to place flood damaged material, safely on the kerbside for collection by Council crews. As of Tuesday 15 November 2022, Council has waived tip charges for the disposal of flood damaged material at the Parkes Waste Facility until further notice.

Sewer System

Due to the extreme rainfall recently received our sewer system is inundated - resulting in some overflows across town. We are aware and trying to rectify where we can, however, we ask the community to be patient and allow the system to catch up.

Parkes Regional Airport

The Parkes Regional Airport is reopen and is operating as normal. All flight services have resumed as normal. Please refer to the REX website for any flight related details.

Council has set up an emergency text messaging system. You can subscribe by calling (02) 6861 2333, by sending your name and mobile phone number to comms@parkes.nsw.gov.au or by direct messaging our Facebook page.
