The NSW Government has announced $50,000 under the Regional Growth Marketing and Promotion Fund towards the promotion of the Parkes Shire as an attractive place to live, work and invest.
The new $1 million program offered grant funding up to $50,000 to eligible organisations outside of Greater Metropolitan Sydney, to strategically promote regional NSW locations through targeted marketing and promotional activities.
Parkes Shire Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM said "the Parkes Shire is a vibrant and progressive regional centre and we now have the opportunity to promote that to businesses, investors, and skilled workers looking to set up, invest or relocate to regional NSW."
Parkes Shire Council will match the NSW Government grant to deliver a substantial integrated business to business marketing campaign targeted at the Western Sydney region.
The campaign will create awareness about the benefits of relocating or expanding businesses to Parkes and will be centred on Parkes as a strategic logistic node for transport and logistics as it is located on the Newell Highway and at the intersection of the Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail and trans-continental rails routes.
"While the Parkes Region boasts affordable housing, diverse employment opportunities, modern health services, quality educational facilities, a strong sporting culture and first class community facilities, the recent funding announcement by the Federal Government of $8.4 billion dollars to build the Inland Rail is a game changer creating new economic drivers for the region," the Mayor added.
"As part of the campaign we will showcase Parkes' strengths as a major logistics hub offering intermodal choice and solution that are faster, cheaper access to consumer markets domestically and internationally."
The campaign will integrate a range of marketing mediums including digital marketing, signage and social media.
