Stuck for gift ideas? Give a gift to the community with a Shop Parkes Region Gift Card.
Parkes Shire Council has partnered with Why Leave Town Promotions to deliver the shop local program which aims to stimulate economic activity and support our local business community, while providing a unique and convenient gifting solution.
Parkes Shire Mayor Cr Ken Keith said, "We have a wonderfully diverse offering of products, services and retail outlets within the Parkes Shire, and as part of this new initiative we are encouraging people to look local first."
"In difficult times, such as this prolonged period of drought, it is especially important that we continue investing in our local business community."
Shop Parkes Region Gift Cards can be accessed and loaded at any Load Up Store within the Parkes Shire all year round.
As little as $1 to as much as $1000 can be loaded onto a single gift card which is valid for 3 years.
Parkes Shire Council's Economic and Business Development Manager Anna Wyllie, said "the gift cards act like an Eftpos savings card that can be spent in multiple transactions across a number of participating stores within the Parkes Shire."
"It is the perfect gift for that hard to buy for friend, family member or colleague, and they also provide a great solution for organisational gifts and incentives."
Over 30 businesses in Parkes and Peak Hill have already signed up as redemption stores.
Business operators within the Parkes Shire who are interested in participating in the program are encouraged to contact Council on 02 6861 2333.
