Nominations now open for 2020 Australia Day Awards

Would you like to give one of Parkes Shire's unsung heroes the recognition they deserve?

Nominations are now open for the 2020 Parkes Shire Council Community, Cultural, Environmental and Sports Awards, including the Ron Harrison Sports Bursary.

Parkes Shire Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM said “we are proud to have a number of individuals and groups making outstanding contributions to the Parkes Shire community.”

"We are fortunate to have a number of outstanding citizens and groups who work tirelessly to make the Parkes Shire such a positive and progressive community."

"These people are often quiet achievers, but their efforts and achievements strengthen our community."

“The annual Australia Day awards are designed to publicly acknowledge and reward the marvellous contributions these citizens and groups make on a local level and encourage others to follow their lead.”

"We recognise individuals or groups who are positively contributing to the local culture, community and environment."

The awards cover the 2019 calendar year to-date and will be announced during the Australia Day Awards ceremony in January 2020.

To nominate someone, pick up a nomination form from Council, one of our libraries, or at the Parkes Visitor Information Centre. Alternatively, you can download nomination forms from www.parkes.nsw.gov.au
