Parkes Shire Council is pleased to announce that the Parkes Library & Cultural Centre will reopen to the public on Monday 15 February 2021 at 9.30am.

The newly renovated facility has been closed for six weeks following the severe storm event that occurred on Saturday 2 January 2021.

Manager Cultural, Education & Library Services Kerryn Jones said, “We are thrilled to be able reopen this fantastic space for our community members to enjoy again.

“The re-opening coincides with Library Lovers’ Day, and we encourage community members to ‘make a date’ with the library to help us celebrate the valuable role that the library plays in our lives.

"All our Library programs will also recommence next week. We look forward to seeing you back in our amazing facility. Visit Council's website for more information on these programs and to find out what's happening at Parkes Shire Libraries," added Kerryn.

The Parkes Country Universities Centre will also reopen on Monday 15 February. To find out more, visit the CUC Parkes Facebook page.
