Works will shortly be commencing on the Parkes Library expansion project. This will deliver a new 'maker' space for community activities, a revamped children's area and 'green areas' to name a few - a space for everyone.
While the exciting new library space is being built, Parkes Shire Library is relocating to 2/250 Clarinda Street, Parkes for a period of 12 months.
The Library will be closed from Monday 5 August until Sunday 1 September 2019 to allow us to relocate to our new space in Clarinda Street. Some of our services will continue to available during this period, including:
- On-line collections and resources
- Extended loan period
- Increased number of items that can be borrowed
- Returns chute available at existing library until 24 August and then move to 2/250 Clarinda Street from 26 August.
- Two computers will be made available for free public use at Parkes Shire Council's Administration Office at 2 Cecile Street, Parkes. Use will be limited to 30 minutes. Items can be scanned and faxed for free, or printed and photocopied at a cost, starting at $0.30.
The Branch libraries at Peak Hill, Trundle and Tullamore will continue to operate as normal.
