Recycled Water Rising Main Construction Update

Construction of the Recycled Water Rising Main pipeline has commenced under Phase 2 of the Parkes Recycled Water Scheme. The works will also include the construction of pump stations and a reservoir. The purple-pipeline scheme will deliver high quality recycled water to irrigate selected parks and sporting fields around town.

Minor works are scheduled from 28-31st May. The works will progress along:

  • Currajong Street from Mitchell St to Newell Highway
  • Kelly Reserve

Roads will remain open during these works, however variable speed limits will be enforced. Please follow instructions from traffic controllers.

  • Nash Street near Field Road - ongoing activity for the construction of the Recycled Water Reservoir and Pump Station
  • Renshaw McGirr Way near the cemetery - ongoing activity for the construction of the Recycled Water Pump Station
  • Eugowra Road at Henry Parkes Way - preliminary works for rehabilitation of the vacant block

Hydrostatic testing will be completed along the pipeline routes in the coming weeks. Any disruptions will be localised and for short duration. Traffic controllers will direct motorists as required.

Below is the proposed schedule for construction.  Residents who will be directly impacted by construction will be notified at least two weeks ahead of construction moving into their area.
