Construction of the Recycled Water Rising Main pipeline has commenced under Phase 2 of the Parkes Recycled Water Scheme. The works will also include the construction of pump stations and a reservoir. The purple-pipeline scheme will deliver high quality recycled water to irrigate selected parks and sporting fields around town.
Council advises that construction work for the Recycled Water Rising Main will progress as follows:
- Currajong Street between Victoria Street and Mitchell Street from Tuesday 26 March to Thursday 28 March
- Wentworth Street between Wednesday 27 March - Thursday 28 March
Residents will be able to access their properties during these times. Traffic control will be in place during the course of the works. Motorists, parents, and carers are urged to be extra vigilant when travelling to schools while road conditions are changed. Please allow additional time for your travel.
The works will be undertaken between 7:00am - 6:00pm weekdays. Saturday works are between 7:00am - 5:00pm. Sunday works are scheduled between 8:00am and 3:00pm
Victoria Street will be closed to traffic in both directions from Friday 29 March to Thursday 4 April. The closures will be carried out in three sections, and will include closing Clarinda Street at Victoria Street.
- Victoria Street between Currajong and Bogan Streets from Friday 29 March to Sunday 31 March
- Victoria Street from Newell Highway to Phillip Street – 1-2 April
- Victoria Street from Talbot St to Ward Street – 3-4 April
