Construction of the Recycled Water Rising Main pipeline has commenced under Phase 2 of the Parkes Recycled Water Scheme. The works will also include the construction of pump stations and a reservoir. The purple-pipeline scheme will deliver high quality recycled water to irrigate selected parks and sporting fields around town.
Residents are advised that construction for the Recycled Water Rising Main will progress past Parkes East Public School between Tuesday 12 February and Thursday 21 February. During this period there will be minor delays, and traffic control will be in place.
The work will be undertaken along:
- Renshaw McGirr Way to the corner of Reid Street
- Reid Street, between Renshaw McGirr Way and East Street
Temporary road closures will be in effect along Reid Street, and Reid Street will be open to local traffic only.
Parents and carers are advised to access Parkes East Public School via Want Street, and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
Motorists, parents, and carers are urged to be extra vigilant around the school while road conditions are changed. Please follow directions from traffic controllers, and refrain from driving or parking along freshly laid pipe-works as this could pose safety risks to the pipes and vehicles.
Below is the proposed schedule for construction. Residents who will be directly impacted by construction will be notified at least two weeks ahead of construction moving into their area.
