Parkes Shire Council is pleased to be partnering with the Parkes Community Arts Inc. (PCA) to host the upcoming Teeny Tiny Arts Festival next month.

The festival successfully made its debut as the Arts Revival Festival in December 2020, inviting local artists and the community to collaborate and form connections through and around the creative arts.

PCA is hosting the festival between the 10 and 18 of December 2021, which includes a jam-packed program. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has meant that the 2021 festival will be 'teeny tiny' with a significant focus on the digital and print modes of delivery.

However, the festival will still include an art exhibition, happenstance art, workshops, and a soiree event to announce the Cultural Award Nominees for the 2022 Australia Day Awards.

Parkes Shire Council's Manager Cultural Education & Library Services Kerryn Jones said, "We wanted to create an atmosphere of fun, inspiration and togetherness around the creative and performing arts in the Shire. The Teeny Tiny Art Festival will be a fantastic opportunity to find art in the ordinary and celebrate the vibrant artistic fabric of our community.

"We encourage everyone to get involved in this art festival in December. Despite the difficult times our community has faced, we want to remind everyone that creativity is not cancelled," said Kerryn.

The aim of the festival is to celebrate creative and performing arts in the Parkes Shire over the last 12 months and to encourage networking and skill development, as well as collaboration and partnerships within the artistic and business communities.

The festival will open with the launch of the Postcards from Parkes exhibition, showcasing art from entrants of all ages across the Shire, with the 10 most popular pieces being made into postcards for distribution around town.

PCA Chair Margot Jolly said, "It's really exciting that we can put on another arts festival despite the trying times of the pandemic, and with the development of the PCA, we look forward to the introducing exciting new festivals for our community in the future."
