Please be advised that as a result of the COVID-19 virus The Henry Parkes Visitor Centre is currently closed until further notice. Parkes Shire meeting spaces including Coventry Room & The Little Theatre are similarly closed until further notice.
Take a tour of the area and discover heritage displays and intriguing cultural experiences. Council manages a number of museum and gallery facilities for the promotion and development of art, culture and tourism in the community.
Henry Parkes Centre
The Henry Parkes Centre is a major cultural and tourism precinct in Parkes. The Henry Parkes Centre is located on the northern side of Parkes on the Newell Highway and incorporates the Parkes Visitor Information and four museums including the King's Castle Elvis Exhibit, Parkes Motor Museum, Henry Parkes Museum and Antique Machinery Exhibit. Aptly named after Sir Henry Parkes, the site features a replica cottage of Moat House which is where Sir Henry grew up in Coventry UK. The Moat House Cottage features an immersive theatre experiences depicting the life of Sir Henry Parkes and his links with our town.

The Coventry Room at Parkes Shire Council provides the ideal gallery space for art and photographic exhibitions and is regularly utilised by local and visiting art and cultural groups.

The Little Theatre
The Little Theatre is located in Bogan Street, across from the Parkes Shire Library. The large foyer is suitable for functions and exhibitions.
