Waste to Art Workshop

On Tuesday 22nd January Parkes Library will be hosting a workshop for children to explore creative ways of using what is considered waste and turning it into art.

The workshop is being presented by two very accomplished Waste to Art winners, Liz MacRaild and Julie Dearden.

In the workshop children will learn ways of twining plastic, using bread bags. They will learn how to skilfully make fine threads out of plastic or strong ropes tied several times. These skills will then be used to create amazing functional pieces. There will be an opportunity for children to come up with their own creative ideas of what they can make and then with assistance the workshop leaders will help the children to achieve their ideas.

Places are limited so you need to come into Parkes Shire Library and book in all who are attending at a cost of $2 per person. This is a workshop for children Year 4 and above.
