Parkes Shire Council maintains a partnership with a range of government agencies in relation to disaster planning and emergency response, including Police, NSW Fire and Rescue, Ambulance, NSW State Emergency Service and NSW Rural Fire Service.

Council deals with emergencies relating to Council works and infrastructure, including roads, drainage and Council buildings.
