Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework
How we engage, plan and report on delivering progress to our community.
In 2009, a new Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework was introduced across Local Government in New South Wales. Parkes Shire Council has been deemed a "Group 1" which saw Council fully adopting its Integrated Planning and Reporting documentation in 2009/2010 Council year. Since this time the IP&R framework has been rolled out across the State.
Through the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, Council and the community establish the Council’s vision for the Shire and the future directions that comprise our strategic focus areas to meet the vision. This is known as the Community Strategic Plan (CSP).
Council then prepares a suite of planning documents to benchmark and report on progress to the community during its term of office. This Delivery Plan is vital to the integrated planning approach and outlines what each newly elected Council will "deliver" and how it will be resourced over the ensuing four years.
To assist the Community and other users of these documents, Council has prepared a simple summary to outline how each plan fits into the entire IP&R approach. The below figure illustrates this integration.
