Reporting to Our Community

Review Council's advancements on delivering progress and value to the community.

Reporting is a critical component of the Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R) process.

Annual Report

Council reports annually on the Delivery Plan which is a strategic plan created by Council to deliver the future directions set by the community. The annual report is one of the key points of accountability between a council and its community.

The annual report focuses on Council's implementation of the Delivery Program and Operational Plan because these are the plans that are wholly the council's responsibility.

The report also includes some information that is prescribed by the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005. This information has been included in the Regulation because the Government believes that it is important for community members to know about it - to help their understanding of how council has been performing both as a business entity and a community leader.

You can view the current reports from Parkes Shire Council below. Copies of plans from previous years can be accessed by contacting Council.

Operational Plan & Progress Reporting

Council reports biannually on operational plan and the progress made in regards to the projects and programs planned for delivery within that 6 month period.

You can view the latest reports here. Further previous reports can be accessed by contacting Parkes Shire Council.

End of Term Report

Council prepares an End of Term Report which is tabled prior to the end of Councils 4 year term.  This document includes a report as to the council's achievements in implementing the Community Strategic Plan over the previous four years. This report also draws on information from other organisations, including State Government agencies.

State of the Environment Reporting

A comprehensive report on the State of the Environment is also required to be prepared and included as part of the end-of-term report. This means that the end of term report will include a report on how the council has met the environmental objectives in the Community Strategic Plan. The report on the State of the Environment includes progress against relevant performance indicators for the environmental objectives of the Community Strategic Plan and Delivery Program.
