Stories and ceremonies are integral to Wiradjuri culture, passing tradition and knowledge to future generations.

Wiradjuri stories maintain the connections between people, sky, water, earth and the creator spirits, such as Biyaami (Baiame), the spiritual creator. There are different stories across the Wiradjuri Nation. Some stories are shared only among families, as they are the spiritual connection between people and their totems. Many people read stories and see the initial morale. However, as they read deeper and explore their thinking, the stories contain much more information about seasons, hunting patterns, behaviour and the rules of society.

Ceremony was usually expressed in dance and song, and painting. All these forms told of traditional lore, looking after country, respect for one another and creation stories of how the land and the people came to be.
