Group Reflective Practice Information Session
Next date: Wednesday, 07 May 2025 | 09:30 AM
to 11:30 AM
In the challenging environment following a disaster, local organisations shoulder responsibility for their community’s recovery. As impacts on mental health and wellbeing may appear months or years after an event, support to implement low-cost, simple, and sustainable wellbeing practices will allow these organisations to continue to provide high-quality services over the long term.
Group Reflective Practice (GRP) is an easy to implement workplace tool for organisations supporting their communities through disasters. The headspace Response and Recovery team has generated a guide for organisations on GRP, with a detailed overview of the practice, possible frameworks, and practical considerations to keep in mind when implementing.
The information session will overview the Group Reflective Practice in Disasters Guide, developed by the headspace NSW Response and Recovery team, highlighting key considerations and supports available.
This session will cover:
• Disaster-related impacts on workers
• What Group Reflective Practice is
• Why it is beneficial for organisations operating pre- and post-disasters, including
- benefits for individuals as well as workplaces and groups
• The role of leadership
• Key implementation considerations
• Existing models and frameworks
• Reflective activities
