Council wishes to advise that Blue-Green Algae has been confirmed at Bogan Weir, Peak Hill.

Exposure to algal toxins can lead to serious health consequences for humans, domesticated animals, and wildlife. Residents and visitors are urged to avoid contact with this water body until further notice, as it can be toxic to humans and animals.

Avoid swimming and water sports. Do not drink or use the water for cooking.

If you come into contact with the water, wash your skin immediately with clean water and seek medical advice if you experience symptoms such as skin rashes, eye irritation, or gastroenteritis.

Council will monitor the site and provide updates when possible.
