Parkes Shire Council advises that the intersection of Victoria and Clarinda Streets will be temporarily closed to traffic to allow for essential pre-construction works as part of the CBD Flood Mitigation Project, funded under Resources for Regions Round 9.
This initial stage involves the removal and replacement of an aged water main, which may contain asbestos material. These works are necessary to prepare for the broader drainage and road upgrades planned for this intersection. All handling and removal of material will be undertaken in accordance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Closure Details:
- Location: Intersection of Victoria Street and Clarinda Street, Parkes
- Duration: From 7.00am, Monday, 11 August 2025 to 5.00pm, Friday, 15 August 2025 (weather permitting)
- Impact: A hard road closure will be in place. Pedestrian access will be limited during the works.
