Applying to join our team

Parkes Shire Council operates a merit-based recruitment process.  All applications will be assessed against the essential criteria of the position.

Before you apply for a position, please read the position description (available immediately following the advertisement) carefully to assess your eligibility and suitability for the position.

All positions are advertised online via our e-recruitment system.  Your application must be submitted online via this system, as we do not accept or consider hard copy applications.

Your application is the first step in the selection process.

Once the closing date for applications has passed, all applications will be assessed and an interview shortlist developed.  Only applicants who have been shortlisted will be contacted and invited in for an interview.

The selection panel will then assess all interviewees before recommending a suitable candidate, completing final checks and requesting they undertake pre-employment checks before the position can be formally offered.

At the end of your application, you will be prompted to upload a copy of your resume.  Your resume (or CV) should be up-to-date and include your employment history, experience and education, as well as the names and details of two referees.  Your referees should be people who have supervised you or have a working knowledge of your previous roles.  We will not contact your referees without getting your permission to do so.
