Councillor Bill Jayet

Cr Jayet is the partner of the late Lindy Farrant and the proud father of their two adult children, Hannah and Drew.  Cr Jayet retired as a senior journalist with the Parkes Champion Post in 2016 after a career spanning 38 years.  He is well known for his love of the arts.

Since being elected to council in 2016, Cr Jayet has served on a wide range of committees and is proud of his achievements which include installation of the dog park at Kelly Reserve, free admission to all pools in the Shire during the devastating drought, and installation of the bollard lighting at Memorial Hill.

As is evident from the many committees with which he is involved, Cr Jayet has an eclectic set of interests and is willing to work hard, listen carefully to the ratepayers, and act accordingly to ensure the progress and prosperity of the Parkes Shire.

Above all, he feels privileged to have been elected for a second term and is determined to work hard for all.
