Parkes Wins Category at NSW Tidy Towns Awards

Parkes Shire Council has taken home a category award at the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW 2026 Tidy Towns Sustainability Awards in Orange over the weekend, winning the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation category for its Parkes Urban Heat and Canopy Mapping Project.

Funding for Local Events and Free Grants Workshop

Road Closures

Parkes Shire Council wishes to advise of the following current road closures throughout the Parkes Shire.

Road Closure Notice & Interruption to Water Supply - Lorking Street

On display until 02 December 2026

Parkes Shire Council will be undertaking water main renewal works along Lorking Street, Parkes. These works will involve temporary interruptions to water supply, temporary intersection closures, and a road closure on Lorking Street (weather permitting).

Notification of Construction Works - Bushman's Dam

On display until 06 November 2026

Parkes Shire Council wishes to advise the community that works will be commencing at Bushman’s Dam to rehabilitate and strengthen the dam, improving flood resilience and increasing protection for surrounding infrastructure and downstream areas.
