Parkes Pool Female Friendly Amenities Upgrade Parkes Aquatic Centre is set to receive a major upgrade to its amenities. The upgrade will include new shower and toilet facilities, 10 private changerooms, and a roof overhead, while the mainentrance off Dalton Street will receive a revamp with a new shopfront and auto glass doors. Parkes Wetlands The Parkes Wetlands project will transform the former Sewage Treatment Plant maturation ponds into a wetlands space that will provide a habitat for native animals, a place for recreation and education, and a boost for tourism.
Activation of Lake Endeavour Locals and visitors will be able to enjoy the beauty of Lake Endeavour when it becomes the first natural water location for recreational use in the Parkes Shire. This exciting development includes safety upgrades and recreational infrastructure, encouraging people to get active in and around the water. Announcement : Project Update: Installation of the floating safety buoys completed on 30 November 2023. Construction of waterless toilets completed on 14 February 2024. Construction of the floating walkway is expected to begin in April 2024. To come: Installation of telecommunications system, CCTV, signage, rescue equipment, swimming area buoys, signage and deposit of beach sand.
