Berryman Oval Flood Repair (Trundle)

Work is currently underway at Berryman Park, Trundle, to repair damage caused by the 2022 flood event. The rehabilitation program includes upgrades to the carpark and track around the oval, restoration of the basketball and tennis courts, and flood-proofing of the pool pump and shed. These essential works will ensure that Berryman Park remains a safe, accessible, and well-maintained hub of activity for the Trundle community.

Project Scope:

Activity 1

Car Park -  Site investigations completed, detailed designs prepared, and removal of old basketball hoops.

Tennis Courts - Old surface and fencing removed, new artificial grass playing surface installed with line marking for three courts (including a multisport court), installation of hoops, nets, umpire boxes and new fencing.

Activity 2

Car Park -  Base layer completed, surface stabilised, and bitumen sealing commenced.

Pool Pump Shed -  Services relocated, existing shed demolished, site raised and prepared, subterranean pipework completed, concrete slab poured, and shed construction commenced.

Activity 3

Car Park - Line marking (including two accessible spaces), installation of wheel stops and signage.

Pool Pump Shed - Shed construction and full fit-out (pumps, telemetry, lighting, and reticulation) completed, commissioning report finalised, and site rehabilitation works undertaken with topsoil, irrigation, and turf.

Project Update:

Parkes Shire Council is pleased to share that significant upgrades at Berryman Oval, Trundle, are nearing completion, with key works now finalised across both Stage 2 flood repairs and new lighting installations.

As part of Stage 2 of the Berryman Oval Flood Repair Project, car park reconstruction and sealing works have been completed, with line marking to be finalised. The tennis and multi-court surfaces are also now fully completed, providing improved facilities for the community.

In addition, new LED lighting has been installed and commissioned for the tennis and multi-court area. This upgrade will extend usability into the evening and enhance safety for players and visitors.

The lighting component of the project was jointly funded by Parkes Shire Council’s Open Space Assets Program and the Trundle Community Consultative Committee, and delivered by Parkes Shire Council. Installation was carried out by local contractor EMC (Electrical Maintenance & Construction).
