Gale online databases now available at Parkes Shire Libraries

Parkes Library members are now able to access Gale online databases for free using their library card.

Gale databases, provided by the State Library of NSW, is one of the world's largest online research platforms. Gale offers credible and up-to-date content on an extensive range of topics. Members can access Gale at any Parkes Library branch or at home using their membership number to log in.

The Parkes Library and Cultural Centre was officially opened on Friday 13th November 2020 by The Hon. Sam Farraway Member for the NSW Legislative Council alongside Parkes Shire Deputy Mayor Cr Barbara Newton, fellow councillors, library staff and community members.

The new architecturally designed indoor and outdoor facility offers the local community an innovative and modern expansion to deliver new dynamic art, cultural and education spaces plus a brand-new intergenerational Makerspace Studio which will provide a wide range of creative learning opportunities, experiences and events.

Parkes Shire Libraries are closed due to COVID-19

If you are unwell, or required to isolate, we request you do not attend the library at this time.  Housebound services are available throughout the Parkes township; please call the library on 02 6861 2309 or email us at library@parkes.nsw.gov.au to register your interest in home delivery of books, dvds and audiobooks.
