Garage Sale Trail

Next date: Saturday, 07 November 2026 | 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM

Australia's biggest secondhand treasure hunt is returning to Parkes Shire this November. Join residents across the region for two big weekends of buying, selling and connecting with the community through garage sales, community markets and neighbourhood treasure hunts.

Whether you're looking to clear out unwanted items, make some extra cash, find a bargain, or simply meet people in your local area, Garage Sale Trail is a fun and easy way to get involved. From vintage collectibles and household items to toys, tools and fashion, you'll discover thousands of pre-loved treasures while helping reduce waste and keep valuable items in use for longer.

Residents can host a sale from home, join forces with neighbours, or participate in a local community market. Thanks to Parkes Shire Council's support, participation is free and open to households, schools, community groups and organisations. You don't need a garage or even a front yard to take part.

Garage Sale Trail is also a great way to support a more circular economy by giving quality items a second life. Last year alone, participants across Australia helped keep 477 tonnes of reusable goods out of landfill while saving money and valuable resources.
