Country Mayors Association NSW
Since its establishment, the CMA has grown to represent the vast majority of non-metropolitan councils in NSW. Guided by its core message “what we want is nothing more than equity” the Association advocates for fair access to services, infrastructure, and opportunities for regional communities.
The CMA provides a forum for councils to work together on shared challenges, influence government policy, and advocate for issues affecting rural and regional areas. Key priorities include improving regional roads, supporting access to healthcare, addressing energy and waste challenges, and promoting investment in new technologies.
The CMA Executive Committee currently comprises:
- Cr Rick Firman OAM JP, Temora Shire Council - Chairman
- Cr Russell Fitzpatrick, Bega Valley Shire Council - Deputy Chairman
- Cr Phyllis Miller OAM, Forbes Shire Council
- Cr Sam Coupland, Armidale Regional Council
- Cr Russell Webb, Tamworth Regional Council
